From the small amount of information I have gathered, White's made 3 different Coin Getter models - the CG-1 (with BFO) (mid to late 1970s), the CG-2 (manufactured around 1979) and the TR Amphibian for underwater searching. Other models White's made during this period were the MiniMaster (1976) and the Beachcomber. I would also like to post information on these models if I can find it.
I have two White's Coin Getter metal detectorss. I have had one of them for about 25 years and it has been out of service because the wires that attached to the circuit board were stiff and are broken off in several places. I just recently purchased a "like-new" unit (thanks to Floyd in Wisconsin). The Coin Getter is a simple, low-budget detector with no discrimination features. It just has a volume control and an earphone jack. You find lots of junk, depending on where you are searching, but that's the way I like it - simple. My older Coin Getter has a blue face on the control box and the newer one has a gold face.
INFORMATION I WOULD LIKE TO ADD TO SITE:
If you have any old copies of magazine ads or brochures for the Coin Getter, I would really like some good large scans to post here. I actually don't know what years the Coin Getter was produced, so I can use just about any information you can supply. You can send pics by email attachment to me. Click HERE to see information I've already received.
Thanks and let me hear from all you fans of the White's Coin Getter!

Welcome to
the White's Coin Getter Site
When I started this site several years ago, there was almost no information available on the internet for the Coin Getter metal detector, so I started the site in hopes of gathering some info. I've had some contributions from people around the world who are fans of this simple little detector from the 1970s. See the menu above.
